Red Bull Showrun demonstration with F1 cars coming to Phoenix

PHOENIX — A popular motor sports demonstration tour is making a pit stop in Phoenix this March.

Red Bull Showrun — a free, high-energy showcase that brings Formula 1 machinery to city streets across the U.S. — will take over downtown on March 14.

The free event will transform Jefferson Street between Central Avenue and Fifth Street into a custom-built course where F1 power and elite driving talent take center stage.

What will happen at Red Bull Showrun event in Phoenix

Red Bull Showrun will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Championship-winning Ford race vehicles will demonstrate their capabilities through various high-octane displays, including roaring burnouts and precision drifting.

Both on‑road and off‑road machines will be featured, including the Lightning SuperTruck and the Mustang GT3.

Joel Koester, the executive director of the Phoenix Sports & Events Commission, said that elite drivers Nikola Tsolov and Scott Speed will pilot the Formula 1 cars during the event.

“Phoenix has a rich motor sports history that has cultivated a passionate racing community across the Valley,” Koester said in an announcement.

Red Bull Showrun will also feature merchandise and immersive, hands-on experiences for fans, he added.

“Phoenix is proud to be included among its featured destinations, sparking excitement across greater Phoenix while drawing fans from near and far to experience this iconic (motor sports) showcase in the heart of our vibrant downtown,” Koester said.
