PHOENIX – Remember where you put your umbrella? You might need it this week with rain in the forecast for the Phoenix area.
According to the National Weather Service, there’s a 50 percent chance for precipitation Wednesday.
Scattered to widespread thunderstorms and showers across the region are expected to produce between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of rainfall, with higher amounts possible.
The rain could continue into Thursday morning before things dry out.

The precipitation will cool things off a bit, too, with temperatures expected to be in the 90s for a few days.
Wednesday’s high is expected to be 93 degrees, a drop of more than 10 degrees from Tuesday’s forecast.
By Saturday, however, temperatures could climb back into triple digits, where they are expected to stay until at least Monday.
