Rainfall, possible thunderstorms forecast for Valley in week ahead

PHOENIX — The Valley is slated for a week of rainy weather as winter nears its end.

There will be a chance of showers Monday through Friday along with some potential thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

With a high of 77 and a low around 59, there will be a 20% chance of rain after 11 p.m. on Monday.

Tuesday is projected to have slightly colder temperatures with a 60% likelihood of precipitation during both the day and evening.

Possible thunderstorms are projected throughout Wednesday with 70% chance of rain during the day on and 60% chance at night.  Between .1 and .25 inch of precipitation is forecast during the day, while between .25 and .5 inch will be possible at night. Highs are expected to be around 76 while lows are likely to be around 59.

Temperatures are likely to stay about the same on Thursday with a 60% chance of rain during the day followed by a 50% chance at night.

With a high of 73 and a low of 55 projected for Friday, the likelihood of rain will drop from 40% during the day to 20% in the evening.

Finally, Saturday is expected to mostly sunny with highs around 75.
