Rain chances to start the week predicted for the Valley

PHOENIX — Don’t put those jackets away quite yet, as rain chances return to the Valley to start off the week.

The National Weather Service is calling for a 60% chance of rain during the day on Monday, with chances increasing to 70% during the overnight hours.

More rain is expected on Tuesday, with a 50% chance during the day before tapering off at night to clear skies.

Parts of the Valley could see rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch during the day on Monday, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Anywhere between a tenth and quarter of an inch of rain may fall on Monday night.

Rain during the day on Tuesday could amount to a tenth of an inch.

Even with the rain and mostly cloudy conditions on Monday, the high is still expected to reach 65-degrees, with a low of 47-degrees.

Tuesday will have partly sunny skies and a low of 61-degrees, decreasing to 42-degrees overnight.

After the storm moves out of the Valley, sunny skies are predicted from Wednesday through the end of the week, with temperatures rising to the high 60’s and into the low 70’s.

So far in 2020, the Valley has only seen around a tenth of an inch of rain.
