PHOENIX — Three prisoners were hospitalized after a collision involving a Tempe City Jail transport van in Phoenix on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Officers arrived to the crash scene near Seventh Street and Buckeye Road around 7:45 a.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The van was carrying nine prisoners back to the Tempe City Jail when the collision occurred.
It was struck by another vehicle that failed to yield while making a left turn, according to the Tempe Police Department.
The three injured adults were hospitalized for precautionary reasons. No detention officers were hurt.
No other details were immediately available.
