Arizona Lottery player wins $50,000 from Powerball ticket bought in Sun City

PHOENIX — One lucky Arizona Lottery player in Sun City won a large payout in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at the Arco AM/PM near 103rd Avenue and US 60/Grand Avenue, south of the US 60 freeway, according to lottery officials.

The ticket matched four of the five white balls — 9, 33, 52, 64, 66 — plus the red Powerball of 1. That made the ticket worth $50,000.

Arizona Lottery winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

Last week, an even luckier Powerball player won $1 million from a ticket bought at a cocktail lounge in Glendale.

When is the next Powerball drawing?

Powerball is a nationwide game of chance with drawings on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights.

Tickets cost $2 and can be purchased at more than 3,000 locations statewide.

No one won the jackpot on Wednesday, which means Saturday’s drawing will be for an estimated $190 million.

The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in more than 292 million.
