Powerball ticket purchased in West Valley becomes pot of gold on St. Patrick’s Day

PHOENIX – A Powerball ticket purchased at a West Valley gas station became a pot of gold on St. Patrick’s Day.

The $2 entry from the QuikTrip at 67th Avenue and Happy Valley Road in Peoria matched four of the five winning numbers in Monday’s drawing — 11, 18, 23, 38 and 60 — plus the red Powerball of 9.

That combo is good for a $50,000 payout.

The winner had not come forward as of Tuesday morning, according to Arizona Lottery officials. The player has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize.

Powerball is a multistate game of chance with drawings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The jackpot went unclaimed Monday and will grow to an estimated $416 million for the next drawing.
