Scottsdale convenience store sells Powerball ticket worth $1 million

PHOENIX – A Powerball ticket worth $1 million was purchased at a north Scottsdale convenience store.

The Circle K at Dynamite Boulevard and Alma School Parkway sold the lucrative entry for Wednesday’s drawing.

It matched all five white numbers – 3, 19, 25, 51 and 67 — but missed the red Powerball of 15.

The odds of hitting that combination are 1 in 11.7 million, but Arizona’s million-dollar winner had plenty of company.

Dozens of players across the nation won at least $1 million, including two who hit the $143 million jackpot.

The jackpot tickets came from Indiana and Kansas. If the winners select the cash payout option, they will split $65.2 million.

Arizona had a second big winner in Wednesday’s drawing. A ticket from a Circle K in Sierra Vista connected for a $50,000 prize.

What is the jackpot for the next Powerball drawing?

Powerball is a multistate lottery game with drawings every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tickets cost $2 each and can purchased be at over 3,000 retail outlets statewide.

The jackpot resets to $20 million for the next drawing Friday.

Arizona Lottery winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
