Portillo’s outlines Arizona expansion plans

A popular Chicago-area restaurant has given details on a new Arizona expansion.

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, the Portillo Restaurant Group has announced two locations in its initial expansion to the Valley.

The first, due to open in February, will be located at 90th Street and Shea Boulevard.

Portillo’s plans to file for a second location near Tempe Marketplace, located at the Loop 202 and McClintock Drive, with hopes of opening in August 2013.

Portillo’s said the company hoped to put a location near the Chandler Fashion Center mall, but that deal fell through. The company is still exploring a Chandler location.
