Police offering up to $1,000 reward for information leading to arrest of armed robber

PHOENIX — Phoenix police are offering up to $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest or indictment of a man who allegedly shoplifted at a Walgreens on April 20.

Authorities said that around 8 p.m. a man approximately 20-25 years of age entered the pharmacy store located at Bethany Home Road and 19th Avenue. Police said the man “selected merchandise off the shelves” and attempted to leave without paying for them.

The unidentified man then reportedly pulled a knife from his “hoodie pocket” and “threatened” a store employee, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Details on armed robber for those seeking reward

The man who allegedly shoplifted at Walgreens and threatened the employee is about 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds. Police said he has short brown hair and was last seen wearing a black hoodie, dark sweat pants and white shoes.

Due to the fact he allegedly had a knife, police warned citizens that he should be “considered armed and dangerous.”

Anyone with information on the man’s whereabouts is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377) or 480-TESTIGO (837-8446) for Spanish speakers. Callers may remain anonymous.

To be eligible for the reward, callers must contact Silent Witness before an arrest or indictment.
