Police investigating ‘suspicious’ death of 2-year-old boy in north Phoenix

PHOENIX — Police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old that took place in north Phoenix on Monday night.

The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. near 15th Avenue and Union Hills Drive.

Phoenix police officers were responding to a call of a child not breathing.

The 2-year-old boy was transported to a local hospital, where he would later be pronounced deceased.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiners Office will determine the cause of death.

No other information was made available at this time.
