Police investigating after man killed in overnight shooting in Phoenix

Police are investigating after a man was killed in an overnight shooting in Phoenix, authorities said Friday.

PHOENIX – Police are investigating after a man was killed in an overnight shooting in Phoenix, authorities said Friday.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the area of 27th Avenue and Washington Street around 2:30 a.m., the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.

They located a 50-year-old man sitting in a car with a gunshot wound.

The victim, who was not identified, died after being taken to a hospital.

The case is being investigated as a homicide.

No other details were made available.
