Police investigating after body of young man found in Phoenix canal
The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a canal near 32nd and Dunlap avenues on Wednesday.

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a canal on Wednesday.
The incident occurred near 32nd and Dunlap avenues.
Efren Ricardo, 20, was last seen walking to work near 19th Avenue and Hatcher Road, but was reported missing by family members on Sunday after not showing up for work.
A dive team pulled Ricardo’s body out from the canal after police had received a call about someone being in the canal. The Phoenix Fire Department also responded to the call.
There were no obvious signs of trauma, police said.
The official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office.
No other information was made immediately available.
