Police investigating fatal collision in north Phoenix
Police are investigating a collision that occurred Monday in north Phoenix that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

PHOENIX — Police are investigating a collision that occurred Monday in north Phoenix that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
Police responded around 7:45 p.m. to the crash near 43rd Avenue and Bell Road. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found 79-year-old Manuel Figueroa with critical injuries. Figueroa was taken to a nearby hospital where he died two days later.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision stayed at the scene. No signs of impairment were shown.
Phoenix Police believe the vehicle that struck Figueroa was traveling southbound and struck Figueroa mid-block while he was crossing 43rd Avenue.
The investigation remains ongoing.
