Police say Buckeye sisters avoiding being found but appear safe

PHOENIX — Two young girls who went missing in Buckeye earlier this month appear to be safe but are avoiding being found, according to police.

Police said Rebecca Cox, 10, and Rana Cox, 12, left a foster placement home near Interstate 10 and Verrado Way on Sept. 19.

Police said they spoke with family members about the girls’ condition. The sisters are possibly being assisted by people they know.

Investigators are continuing to work to return the girls home.
