Police arrest man who allegedly robbed 6 Tucson banks, 2 stores

PHOENIX — Tucson police arrested 52-year-old James Siehien, a man accused of robbing six banks and two stores, Friday without incident, authorities said.

He allegedly robbed two banks twice for a total of 10 robberies.

His arrest occurred following a bank robbery at First Convenience Bank in Tucson, according to a press release.

Siehien has been accused in a federal criminal complaint.

The complaint stated that he would pass a demand note to a bank teller and sometimes threaten them with weapons like a machete or an ax, according to the release.

No one got physically injured in any of the robberies.

• November 3, 2021, Whataburger, 3925 S. Sixth Ave., Tucson AZ
• November 5, 2021, First Convenience Bank, 1260 E. Tucson Marketplace Blvd., Tucson, AZ

The FBI’s Southern Arizona Crime and Gang Task Force worked with the Tucson Police Department on this case, according to the release.
