Phoenix Zoo’s drive-thru event set to end Sunday

PHOENIX — The final day for visitors to participate in the Phoenix Zoo’s drive-thru will be Sunday, officials announced.

The zoo will open at 7 a.m. that day for Cruise the Zoo. Visitors will be able to drive past a range of animals including elephants, tortoises, cheetahs, flamingos and orangutans.

The last car will be accepted no later than 11:45 a.m.

Tickets to the event must be purchased online ahead of time.

The general public will be charged $65 per vehicle while zoo members will be charged $25.

Other items such as beverages, food, photos and souvenirs can be prepurchased as well.

Park authorities have canceled foot traffic for that day to allow room for cars.
