Vandal sentenced for more than 750 acts of graffiti in central Phoenix
A vandal who admitted to more than 750 acts of graffiti was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

PHOENIX — A vandal who admitted to more than 750 acts of graffiti in central Phoenix has now been sentenced, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (MCAO) announced Thursday.
Jordan Quimayousie, 34, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal damage for the acts of vandalism, which happened between January 2023 and October 2024, MCAO said.
He was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison on Wednesday and was given credit for more than 290 days served.
Where did vandal’s crimes take place in Phoenix?
Quimayousie vandalized many properties along the 19th Avenue corridor in Phoenix, between Indian School and Camelback roads.
The properties vandalized included bus stops, fire hydrants, sidewalks, an apartment complex, Phoenix Christian Preparatory School and Christ Church, according to Thursday’s release from MCAO and an indictment from October 2024.
MCAO said the graffiti would consist of Quimayousie’s multiple monikers, which included “MOWER,” “KSK,” “KS,” “FIBER” and “FYBER.”
The damage cost the city of Phoenix more than $58,000 to repair. Quimayousie was ordered to pay restitution to the city and an additional $4,200 to the apartment complex he vandalized to pay for the cleanup.
MCAO said it learned about this crime at a community meeting, as people who live in the area claimed that the city couldn’t keep up with Quimayousie’s graffiti.
“This case highlights the power of a community working together to make our neighborhoods better,” Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said in the release. “Residents spoke up, Phoenix Police Community Action Officers did a thorough investigation, and MCAO’s prosecutor made sure this defendant was appropriately punished and made to pay back taxpayer dollars spent cleaning up his crimes.”

No kidding. Also how does a little paint add up to $58k?
If they are really paying like that who do I talk to? Heck I'll even sand and primer it all for half price!
4.5 years PLUS restitution? That seems excessive when you don't even press charges for running over a pedestrian unless alcohol was involved or imprison people who litter or idle their vehicle in a parking lot to run their air conditioner. It doesn't look like the owners of the "damaged" property were taking care of it anyway.
