Phoenix, Tucson museums named among top 25 in the US

PHOENIX — Two Arizona museums were named to a popular travel website’s top 25 list.

The site named the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix No. 15 in their Traveler’s Choice awards list, while the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson came in at No. 18.

The company took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings from the past year, it said in a news release.

According to the release, museum ticket sales increased by 29 percent last year for U.S. travelers and 40 percent globally.

The list’s top three museums were the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and The National WWII Museum in New Orleans.
