Phoenix shooting leaves 1 man dead, his brother in prison

PHOENIX — A man was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing his brother in east Phoenix on Friday morning, according to authorities.

At approximately 8 a.m., Phoenix police arrived in the area of 46th Street and Calle Del Medio in response to a call about a shooting.

Officers discovered the body of James Arthur Eaves, 51, lying on his home’s driveway with “at least one gunshot wound,” according to a press release. Eaves was pronounced dead after first responders accessed his injuries.

After investigation, Phoenix police determined Eaves’ 49-year-old brother, Christopher, was the suspect who allegedly shot him. Christopher arrived on the scene along with other family members and he was arrested and booked into jail for murder and other charges.

Christopher didn’t answer initial questions from homicide detectives, who had taken over the investigation.

The suspect’s motives are unknown at this time.
