Phoenix police searching for suspect after fatal hit-and-run

The Phoenix Police Department is looking for a suspect after a 65-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run late Saturday night, according to authorities.

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is looking for a suspect after a 65-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run late Saturday night, according to authorities.

Police responded to the scene near 35th Avenue and McDowell Road around 11:45 p.m. and found the man laying in the roadway with life threatening injuries. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police the man was crossing just north of the intersection when a black SUV traveling south struck him and did not stop after the collision.
