Phoenix police officer suffers serious injuries after crash with other vehicle

PHOENIX — A Phoenix police officer suffered serious injuries after his vehicle was struck by another car on Tuesday, authorities said.

The incident occurred near Seventh and Vineyard avenues, between Baseline Road and Southern Avenue, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The officer was taken to a hospital for his injuries and is expected to be released later in the day.

The driver of the other vehicle remained on scene and spoke with officers, police said.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
