Phoenix police arrest teen after fatal shooting of 17-year-old

Phoenix police arrested a teenage boy Friday after a shooting that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy, authorities said.

PHOENIX — Phoenix police arrested a teenage boy Friday after a shooting that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy, authorities said.

Police responded to a hospital around 1:30 p.m. after receiving information that a boy was dropped off with a gunshot wound, according to a press release.

Officers began interviewing several people that dropped him off and found out the shooting occurred near 67th Avenue and Indian School Road.

The victim, Hector Matthew Pena-Dominguez, died from his injuries.

Police then located the scene of the shooting and continued interviews, leading to the arrest of a juvenile male.

The juvenile, whose name has not yet been released, was then booked into a juvenile detention center.
