Phoenix police said a suspected drunk driver is behind bars after crashing into a patrol car Friday morning.
Sgt. Tommy Thompson said the seven-year veteran officer was not seriously hurt in the accident near 44th Street and Thomas Road. The officer was hospitalized as a precaution.
“Her door was jammed and it wouldn’t open but a witness helped her open the door and get out so she could arrest the driver who was trying to walk away,” Thompson said.
