PHOENIX — The politicians are getting in on the spirit of the NBA Finals.

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and Milwaukee’s Tom Barrett agreed to a friendly wager over the series between the Suns and Bucks, which began Tuesday at Phoenix Suns Arena.

The losing city’s mayor will have to wear the winning team’s jersey at their next city council meeting.

“I’m betting big on the Suns. Our entire city is,” Gallego said in a challenge video.

Barrett was game for the bet, posting that he hopes Gallego “looks good in GREEN.”

The mayors will also exchange cultural and culinary offerings regardless of the result.

The Phoenix package will include selections from Huss Brewing, a tray of treats from Urban Cookies and more.

Gallego has an early lead on the bet as Phoenix beat Milwaukee 118-105 in Game 1 Tuesday night.

The Suns will host the Bucks in Game 2 of the Finals from Phoenix Suns Arena on Thursday night. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. Catch all the action on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
