PHOENIX — The co-founders of a Phoenix-based mobile tipping app will pitch their startup on the famed ABC television show “Shark Tank” on Sunday.

According to The Phoenix Business Journal, Hector Rodriguez and Maria Luna will ask investors for money for their Bravo Tip or Pay app on the episode. The show will air at 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Luna, who is also the app’s CEO, said the company is seeking the help of investors because “it’s a great platform to meet great advisers and people. It’s a great opportunity that any business will welcome.”

The couple is not permitted to say a lot about the show, but Rodriguez, the app’s chief operating officer, offered praise for the program.

“It’s a great platform, and that’s all we can say for now. They’re very strict on what we can say,” he told The Phoenix Business Journal.

The beta version of Bravo launched in September of 2015. It allows users to pay or tip for services through the app without exchanging personal information or swiping a credit card.

While Luna would not tell The Phoenix Business Journal how many users the app has generated, it has been used by tens of thousands of users in the city.

The app is also available in Austin, Texas; and will launch next in the Los Angeles area.
