Phoenix could get rain, snow possible in northern Arizona later in week

PHOENIX — Precipitation could be returning to Phoenix and northern Arizona later this week, according to the National Weather Service.

The Phoenix forecast calls for a 40% chance of rain Thursday night and throughout Friday.

The possible wet weather will bring cooler temperatures to town, with highs dropping to 65 degrees on Thursday and 62 degrees on Friday.

Lows for those days will drop to the mid-40s.

Flagstaff is anticipating snow and will likely see showers earlier in the week than Phoenix.

A 20% chance of snow is forecast for Wednesday morning and increases to 50% by the evening.

A 50% chance of flurries will persist until Friday morning.

NWS in Flagstaff said to expect a couple inches of accumulation each day Wednesday through Friday.

Snow is in the forecast through Saturday.

Lows are expected to drop into the teens by Wednesday night and remain there through Saturday.
