PHOENIX — After a few days of sunshine with below-normal temperatures, the weather will heat up a little in metro Phoenix enough to likely hit 90 degrees by Saturday.

That would be the first time since Sept. 30 the temperatures climbed into the 90s. On Sept. 30, the high topped out at 95 degrees. By the next day, it had dropped to 78.

Friday’s high was expected to be around 86 degrees and rain could make an appearance during the weekend.

Rain could start falling Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.

The near-90 degrees is average for this time of year. October has been marked by highs in the 80s.

Other parts of Arizona have had unusually cooler weather for this time of year, too.

Up north, at least two inches of snow fell in Flagstaff on Tuesday. The month of October averages 0.31 inches of snow there.
