Phoenix-area trick-or-treaters are in for a chilly Halloween

Phoenix-area trick-or-treaters may want to add a layer or two to their Halloween costumes this year, with temperatures expected to drop into the low 50s.

PHOENIX — Phoenix-area trick-or-treaters may want to add a layer or two to their Halloween costumes this year.

Thursday’s high temperature is expected to peak at 75 degrees, then fall into the low 50s as the sun goes down.

Temperatures will be even colder in the morning, possibly dropping as low as 43 degrees.

“The coldest day looks to be on the 31st, so Thursday morning, and that might actually be the coldest Halloween morning in over 40 years,” Chris Kuhlman with the National Weather Service told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Wednesday.

However, trick-or-treaters can confidently expect to stay dry.

“There’s definitely no chance of rain in the next few days, and really, there’s no chance through week probably, too,” Kuhlman said.

Phoenix has seen zero precipitation in October, following a drier-than-average monsoon season.
