Peoria Sports Complex to have sensory room at Halloween Monster Bash

PHOENIX — The Peoria Sports Complex, on the corner of 83rd Avenue and Bell Road, will be hosting its annual Halloween Monster Bash on Oct. 26, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

New to the event this year is a sensory room for children, teens and adults with sensory processing difficulties.

The sensory room will be filled with weighted blankets, soft toys, plush chairs and noise-cancelling headphones. Attendees can also rent sensory kits to be used during the bash.

Monster Bash is a free event but all are encouraged to donate canned food to benefit the St. Mary’s/Westside Food Bank Alliance.

For those who want to partake in activities such as carnival games, the rock wall or inflatables, unlimited activity wristbands can be purchased for $5.

Kids can also experience the Euro Bungee, Ring of Fire ride and hayrides. Trick-or-treating will be held for kids, as well.

Free candy will provided around the complex and a Teal Pumpkin Program will be in place for children who aren’t able to eat candy.

Children carrying a teal pumpkin or bag will let event staff to offer toys, games or arts and crafts.
