PHOENIX — The Peoria Police Department announced this week the launch of an interactive incident map.

The online map allows people to view incidents over the past 180 days city-wide or in a particular neighborhood, according to a press release.

“The Police Department is striving to be more transparent with the citizens of Peoria and we believe this program, along with the Crime Snapshot, is a way to do so,” the department said in a press release.

Among the crimes included are arson, assault, burglary, homicide, kidnapping, robbery, sexual offense, theft and a variety of other incidents.

Each crime on the map includes a case number, when the incident occurred and an option for people to submit a tip.

People can also view cases by police district number or council district.

The incident map, which was developed with the city information and technology staff, hopes to provide meaningful information to the community.
