Pedestrian dead after alleged hit-and-run in a Mesa parking lot

A man is dead after an alleged hit-and-run in a Mesa parking lot on Saturday night, authorities said.

The man was struck by a vehicle that police believe could be a silver Ford F-150 that then left a lot at Mesa Grand Shopping Center, which is located at Baseline Road and Stapley Drive, according to the Mesa Police Department.

Police arrived at the scene around 11 p.m. to find the man, later identified as 33-year-old Robert Hetrick, dead.
