Passenger dies after truck collides with airport shuttle bus in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A 75-year-old woman is dead after a truck collided with an airport shuttle bus at the intersection of 32nd Street and Washington Street in Phoenix late Tuesday night, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Authorities say it appears the truck was traveling east on Washington Street when it failed to stop for a red light and struck the airport shuttle going north on 32nd Street approaching Washington Street.

Kathleen Watson, a passenger of the airport shuttle, was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Another passenger, a 74-year-old male, and the driver of the airport shuttle bus, a 39-year-old male, both have minor injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old male, was also transported to the hospital for treatment.

Impairment is a factor at this time, according to Police.

The investigation is ongoing.

No other details were immediately available.
