Parts of I-10 to close overnight in Phoenix this weekend for tunnel maintenance

PHOENIX — Both directions of Interstate 10 in downtown Phoenix will be closed at varying times overnight this weekend for tunnel maintenance.

The eastbound lanes of the highway are scheduled to be closed between the I-10 Stack interchange and Seventh Street from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a press release.

Both I-17 ramps to eastbound I-10 at the Stack, and eastbound I-10 on-ramps at 19th and Seventh avenues will both be closed through early Saturday morning.

The westbound lanes of the highway between the Interstate 17 Split interchange and Seventh Avenue will then close from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday.

The southbound State Route 51 ramp to westbound I-10 and the Southbound I-17 ramp to westbound I-10 near Sky Harbor Airport are both set to be closed through early Sunday morning.

The westbound Loop 202 ramp to westbound I-10 and the westbound Sky Harbor Boulevard ramp to westbound I-10 will remain open, but ADOT said drivers must exit I-10 at Seventh Street from the Loop 202 ramp and exit I-10 from the Sky Harbor Boulevard ramp to northbound State Route 51 or eastbound Loop 202.

In Buckeye, I-10 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions between Verrado Way and Watson Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday and from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday.

Lanes of Loop 101 in the North Valley will also be restricted this weekend for pavement marking work.

The westbound lanes of the highway are set to be narrowed to two lanes between Pima Road/Princess Drive and Tatum Boulevard from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and the eastbound lanes will be narrowed to two lanes between I-17 and Seventh Street and between 56th and 64th streets from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
