Paris Baguette café opens first Arizona location in Mesa

PHOENIX — An international bakery chain opened its first Arizona location on Thursday as part of its U.S. expansion.

Located in Mesa at 1919 W. Main St., Paris Baguette offers customers an assortment of bread, pastries, cakes, salads, sandwiches and seasonal beverages in a grab-and-go, café-style setting, according to a press release.

“As we continue to introduce Paris Baguette to cities across the nation, we are thrilled to finally open our doors in the state of Arizona,” Paris Baguette CEO Darren Tipton said in the release.

“We look forward to bringing high-quality products and offerings to the Mesa area where we can continue to grow and continue our expansion goals across the nation.”

Although Paris Baguette was officially founded in 1988, the global chain’s origins lie with a South Korean bakery — Sangmidang — that began operating in 1945, according to its website.

Paris Baguette’s Mesa location is one of 82 in the U.S. and there are more than 4,000 located throughout the globe.
