Man dead after early-morning shooting in central Phoenix

A man is dead after a central Phoenix shooting on Sunday morning, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A man is dead after a central Phoenix shooting on Sunday morning, authorities said.

Police responded to a shooting call near 15th and Highland avenues around 2:30 a.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found 27-year-old Robert Schaezlein inside an apartment with injuries. He was taken to the hospital where he later died due to his injuries, police said.

Authorities said a woman who admitted to being involved in the shooting was detained on scene. She was later released after being interviewed.

An investigation remains ongoing. No other details were made available.
