PHOENIX — Valley drivers will be hindered by a 5-mile closure on westbound Interstate 10 near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport this weekend as part of the Broadway Curve Improvement Project.

The closure begins at the State Route 143 Hohokam Expressway and goes to the Interstate 17 Split interchange beginning at 10 p.m. Friday and lasting until 4 a.m. Monday, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a press release.

Westbound I-10 on-ramps at Elliot, Baseline and Broadway roads, as well as the westbound U.S. 60 HOV lane ramp to westbound I-10 and the southbound SR 143 ramp to westbound I-10 are all set to be closed for the project.

Just to the west of the closure, the left two lanes of southbound I-17 between Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street will be narrowed from 6 a.m. to noon Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday for maintenance.

Drivers should also be aware of a closure of the westbound I-10 off-ramp and eastbound on-ramp at Miller Road in Buckeye starting Friday and remaining unavailable until mid-March for reconstruction as part of an ongoing widening project.
