Online thrift store ThredUP opens corporate office in Scottsdale

PHOENIX — ThredUP, an online fashion resale platform, announced Thursday it has opened a corporate office in Scottsdale.

The 8,000-square-foot office near Indian School Road and Drinkwater Boulevard plans to create up to 50 jobs, according to a press release.

“We are thrilled to open our latest office in Scottsdale and expand our corporate footprint. As we continue to scale thredUP’s operations, our customer remains at the core of what we do,” COO Allison Hopkins said in the release.

“With that in mind, we’re investing in space to bring in talented engineers and customer service representatives to continue delighting the customer and inspiring the next generation to think secondhand first.”

ThredUP has distribution centers in Phoenix, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Georgia. The centers receive 100,000 items everyday, according to the release.

The company was founded in 2009 and is based in Oakland, California, and employs more than 1,500 people.
