Once popular Phoenix-area pool builder throws in the towel

Longtime Phoenix-area pool builder Paddock Pools has thrown in the towel.

The Scottsdale-based swimming pool company is closing shop after nearly 60 years. The company has had a spring and summer filled with trouble, the worst of which was having its licenses revoked after too many customer complaints.

Complaints filed with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors included unfinished jobs and sloppy overall work.

The Phoenix Business Journal reported that the company had already begun selling off showroom inventory online.

The main showroom is located on Shea Boulevard near Loop 101.
