Officer, driver hurt in 2-vehicle collision that closed Scottsdale intersection

A police officer and driver were hurt in a two-vehicle collision involving a patrol car that closed a Scottsdale intersection on Saturday morning, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A police officer and driver were hurt in a two-vehicle collision involving a patrol car that closed a Scottsdale intersection on Saturday morning, authorities said.

According to the Scottsdale Police Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of Drinkwater Boulevard and Osborn Road.

Police said that no serious injuries were reported, but that the officer was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

The driver of the other vehicle was evaluated by EMS, but did not want to be taken to the hospital.

Police said that the intersection would be closed for a couple of hours.

The department’s Vehicle Crimes and Reconstruction Unit will be investigating the collision.
