Next Phoenix Zoo happy hour event has bonus of ZooLights preview

PHOENIX – The final Phoenix Zoo happy hour event of 2022 has an added attraction: a sneak peek of this year’s ZooLights.

Roars & Pours gives grownups the chance to enjoy the zoo grounds while sipping on alcoholic drinks, which are available for purchase. The experience from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, rain or moonshine, is limited to adults 21 and over.

Admission is $10, which is $20 below the lowest non-member regular ZooLights ticket price.

The Phoenix Zoo’s traditional holiday season light show doesn’t officially debut this year until Nov. 23, and it runs until Jan. 15.

Thursday night’s attendees can be the first to experience this season’s new ZooLights features: a Wildlife Lantern Safari and 50-foot digital tree floating on the main lake with lights synched to music.

The event also includes access to the zoo’s ongoing Dinosaurs in the Desert exhibit, plus the usual Roars & Pours programming of The Mating Game animal show, Safari Cruiser and camel rides, and yard games.
