The City of Surprise is hoping a new car dealership will bring a nice boost to its economy.

The city council approved construction to begin for Larry Miller’s 62,000-square-foot auto dealership and service center at Loop 303 and Waddell Road.

Spokeswoman Diane Arthur said it’s going to have a great impact for the city.

“It means new shopping opportunities for our residents, new sales-tax generation for our city to improve service here and new jobs,” she said.

She added the facility will employ 80 full- and part-timers.

The new dealership will join the Sands Chevrolet and Kia retail centers, as well as the soon-to-open Coulter Nissan dealership.
