Investigators say none of Nancy Guthrie’s relatives are suspects in the case
The Pima County Sheriff's Department announced Monday that it has cleared all of Nancy Guthrie's relatives of suspicion.

PHOENIX — The Pima County Sheriff’s Department announced Monday that it has cleared all of Nancy Guthrie’s relatives of suspicion as the search for the missing 84‑year‑old mother enters its third week.
“To be clear … the Guthrie family — to include all siblings and spouses — has been cleared as possible suspects in this case,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in the announcement. “The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case.”
Nanos also criticized members of the media who he believes have cast unwarranted suspicion on Nancy’s family.
“To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel. The Guthrie family are victims plain and simple,” Nanos said. “Please, I’m begging you, the media, to honor your profession and report with some sense of compassion and professionalism.”

His statement came a day after Arizona State Rep. Alma Hernandez called out “wannabe journalists” partaking in the Guthrie investigation.
Hernandez, who represents Arizona’s 20th district, expressed on “CNN Newsroom with Fredricka Whitfield” she’s “extremely frustrated” with the true crime livestreamers and YouTubers who have flooded into Tucson.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her Arizona home on Jan. 31 and was reported missing the following day when she didn’t show up for church.
Investigators have said her blood was found on the front porch. Additionally, purported ransom notes were sent to news outlets, but two deadlines for paying have passed.
Last week, FBI Phoenix revealed forensic analysis of Guthrie’s doorbell camera footage, which confirmed the suspect is male, has an “average build” and is between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-10.
He was also seen wearing a “black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack,” according to the FBI.
The FBI also doubled the reward for those who help locate the 84-year-old who is the mother of “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie.
