MxPx to headline Punk Rock Christmas music festival in Chandler

PHOENIX — The Punk Rock Christmas Festival at Chandler’s Rawhide on Saturday will be headlined by 90s band MxPx and treat Valley residents to an assortment of craft beers and grungy holiday cheer.

Doors open at noon at the entertainment venue, which is located at 5244 S. 48th Street, and anyone under the age of 18 heading to the event must be accompanied by an adult.

MxPx will be the final act to take the stage at 9 p.m. and the following fellow punk rockers will warm the crowd up: Face to Face (8 p.m.), The Vandals (7 p.m.), Authority Zero (6 p.m.), Voodoo Glow Skulls (5 p.m.), Slick Shoes (4 p.m.), Urethane (3 p.m.), Jen Pop (2 p.m.) and WinterHaven (1 p.m.).

Mike Herrera, member of MxPx, said in a press release he’s looking forward to “Christmas in the desert” as they share their love of different thinking with the Valley.

General admission tickets begin at $49.99 plus fees and VIP tickets, which include an upgraded viewing area and food and drink, start at $129.99. Children ages 5 and under get in free.

Each purchased ticket provides you with full access to all band performances and for another $15 those 21 and older can get a craft beer tasting pass. The beer tasting pass can be used from noon to 3 p.m.

There will also be hard seltzer and cider available for purchase.

Event founder Cameron Collins of Brew Ha Ha Productions said that the punk rock festival is the “Christmas party of the year.”

“You’ll get all the energy of a punk show with the spirit of the season — and we might even throw in a few snow machines for good measure,” Collins said. “Join us as we make Arizona very merry. This is the Christmas Party of the year!”

Any donations brought to the event grounds will earn you faster festival entrance.
