Two people were found dead Friday afternoon after an apparent murder-suicide in Phoenix, police said.

Phoenix Police officers responded to reports of shots fired near 99th Avenue and Camelback Road just before 4 p.m.

Police found a man and woman with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said it appears 54-year-old Ronald Wright Serafino shot 40-year-old Shanna Cassondra Watts before turning the gun on himself.

“Preliminary information indicates the victim and suspect lived together. Evidence suggests the suspect shot the victim before taking his own life,” Cmdr. Mercedes Fortune said in a media advisory.

The investigation is ongoing.
