Motorcyclist dies at hospital from injuries suffered in north Phoenix collision

A motorcyclist died after he was involved in a north Phoenix collision on Friday morning, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A motorcyclist died after he was involved in a north Phoenix collision on Friday morning, authorities said.

Officers who responded around 9 a.m. found the man, 38-year-old Todd Keightley, with critical injuries at the scene of the collision near Cave Creek Road and Sweetwater Avenue. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Detectives on the scene learned Keightley was headed north on Cave Creek Road when he struck an SUV turning from Cave Creek Road onto Sweetwater Avenue.

The woman driving the SUV remained on scene and did not show signs of impairment, according to Phoenix Police Sgt. Brian Bower.

No other information was given.

I've probably ridden through this intersection many 1000's of times - never had an issue..
.. BUT I always have slowed down, looked both ways for cross-traffic and (potential) left-turners and pedestrians crossing against the green light.

IOW - I have ridden as if I were invisible to other drivers.
