Motorcyclist dead following collision in Phoenix

A motorcyclist is dead following a crash in Phoenix Saturday evening, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A motorcyclist is dead following a crash in Phoenix Saturday evening, authorities said.

Officers responded to the crash near 7th Avenue and Elwood Street around 5:15 p.m. and found Justin Jacobs, 36, in critical condition, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The Phoenix Fire Department later arrived and determined Jacobs dead.

Detectives from the Vehicular Crimes Unit took over the investigation and determined Jacobs lost control of the motorcycle and collided with the sidewalk on the east side of the road.

The investigation remains ongoing.
