Motorcyclist dead after collision with utility pole in Phoenix
A man died after his motorcycle struck a large wooden utility pole in Phoenix on Monday night, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A man died after his motorcycle struck a large wooden utility pole in Phoenix on Monday night, authorities said.
The Phoenix Police Department identified the motorcycle rider as 36-year-old Marvin Roy Logons III.
Police responded to the crash near Orangewood and 23rd avenues around 10:30 p.m.
Preliminary information suggests that Logons lost control of his motorcycle, rode onto the sidewalk and collided with the pole, police said.
After the impact, Logons was separated from his motorcycle and was in critical condition when police arrived.
The Phoenix Fire Department pronounced him dead on the scene.
