Missing Mesa boy found safe in Tennessee with his mother, who is under investigation

A missing 9-year-old Mesa boy was found safe Wednesday in Tennessee with his mother, who is expected to be charged in the case, authorities said.

Christine Gill, 40, and her son Holden were reported as missing on July 29, according to the Mesa Police Department.

The boy’s father asked police to make the missing persons bulletin public. The bulletin said the mother and boy had not been seen since July 24 near Stapley Drive and Main Street.

They were seen again Monday in Walker County, Georgia, and located in good health and detained in Tennessee two days later. Police did not say what part of Tennessee.

A Mesa Police spokesperson said felony charges will be filed against Christine Gill but did not provide details about her alleged offenses.

Authorities were looking after the boy while his father was traveling to Tennessee to pick him up.
