Missing 71-year-old Chandler man found; Silver Alert canceled

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert for a missing 71-year-old Chandler man was canceled Thursday after he was found, authorities said.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said in an email Arlen Scott Killius had been located. He had gone missing Wednesday evening.

The email did not include any information about Killius’ condition.

Killius hadn’t returned home after fishing or visiting friends at Kiwanis Park in Tempe or Desert Breeze Park in Chandler early Wednesday, according to the release.

His credit-card statement showed a purchase at a Tempe gas station around 4:30 a.m., along with another purchase in Nogales just before 5 p.m.

The United States Border Patrol said Killius’ vehicle did not pass through the border, according to the release.

Killius’ wife said he didn’t have a history of going missing.
